It all began in Barcelona, Spain, where Mariana Betting Ferrarezi and Roberto Hercowitz pursued master’s degrees in furniture design at IED and in Ecodesign at Elisava. During this time, the duo founded the studio emdoïsdesign, where they began creating furniture and objects.
They are drawn to innovative design, conceptual lines, and expressive character, and enjoy working with a wide range of materials, technologies, and styles. They see this not as a strategy, but as an opportunity to explore their curiosity. Their projects are developed with a focus on the close functional and emotional relationship between the piece and its user, while also preserving Brazilian tradition and cultural identity. Their work has received awards both in Brazil and internationally, including the iF Product Design Award 2011, one of the world’s most prestigious design honors.
“Our projects aim to achieve practical and economically viable results through consistent work and a strong commitment between Em2design and our clients, helping them meet their corporate objectives and connect with their target audience.”
