Ongoing investments in technology, high-quality raw materials, and a highly skilled workforce with expertise in complex manufacturing processes have positioned VIDROTEC as a leader and reference in its segment. The company creates, develops, and manufactures unique pieces using exclusive glass production techniques that prioritize not only aesthetic beauty and functionality, but also safety, strength, durability, and reliability.
VIDROTEC 80 YEARS
VIDROTEC carries in its DNA the expertise and dedication of the Gonsalez family—a story that began in the 1930s, when Spanish immigrant João Gonsalez Júnior started working as a laborer in a glass factory, where he developed his craft with the material. The experience he gained, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, transformed opportunity into his first independent venture: a small glass-curving workshop dedicated to producing lenses for eyewear.
As the business prospered, VIDROTEC—officially founded in 1943—evolved over the decades, taking on new forms and nuances shaped by successive generations of the Gonsalez family. In the 1980s, the company stood out as a pioneer in the production of glass tabletops; in the 1990s, it began manufacturing its first glass furniture pieces using chromed metal hardware. This accumulated expertise opened up new possibilities with the arrival of ultraviolet bonding technology in Brazil—introducing new techniques, materials, and processes that ensured safety and quality in the creation of pieces as iconic as the company’s own history. In 2023, VIDROTEC celebrated 80 years of passion for glass, for design, and, above all, for the ongoing challenge of staying ahead of its time, with quality, reliability, and safety in both the national and international markets.
